How did you get into event planning?
I started my business as a wedding cake company. So many of my clients were asking me questions about their events and then asking for my help that my cake business became a wedding coordination business.
What is your favorite thing about your job?
I love everything that has to do with weddings! I also love being a part of the beginning of a couple’s life together and the romance and excitement that goes along with it!
Is there an event that you planned that stands out as your favorite?
Oh gosh, I have loved them all! One that stands out was a wedding where the bride wanted to feel like her guests were in a tent, but the venue was a country club. So we had custom ceiling and draping designed to create the look of a tent. That was a favorite for sure!
If you could change one thing about your industry what would it be?
I wish Pinterest had a price listing on each pin. So many clients have come to me with wonderful ideas only to be blown away by how much those ideas would cost in "real life". Yes, the average wedding is around $35,000, but those featured on Pinterest can easily be three to four times that amount!
What is the best piece of advice you can give to a future client?
Hire an event planner!!! It isn't a luxury, it is a necessity! I have so many people tell me that they wished they had hired at the very least an event manager (day-of coordinator) because they were so busy coordinating the event they couldn't enjoy it. To me that is the saddest thing to hear!
Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
Because I’m awesome (laughs). No, I think that my work stands out because of the attention to detail that I give to the couple and to events. My background experiences have made me very adaptable to different spaces and ideas. Every event is different and being able to adapt and see the details in each one is something that I am extremely proud of and that stands out.
What is your greatest strength?
I used to think that organization was my greatest strength. While I am an extremely organized person, I realized that where event planning is concerned, my true strength is accurately interpreting my client’s vision for their event.
If you were to create your own T-shirt, what would it say?
"But Does it Come in Black" I didn't make that up, I found it at the mall. It's the only t-shirt I have that isn't a solid color, but its still black LOL!
What movie can you quote word for word?
Father of the Bride with Steve Martin and Martin Short
What is on your travel wish list?
I would LOVE to do a wedding at Vizcaya in Miami Florida! I was born at Miami Dade Hospital which borders the gardens of Vizcaya, and I would love to be able to do a wedding there. While I was there I would go back to Key Biscayne and visit the street we lived on.
What is a philosophy you live by?
I believe that kindness is the greatest gift you can give to another person.
Tell us something that isn't commonly know about you.
I am high blue belt in Tae Kwon Do but I haven't practiced seriously in a really long time.

"The quality of work was more than we paid for"
Libbi was amazing. My husband and I purchased the "day of" planning, but Libbi still helped in the course of the entire planning! The day of the wedding I did not have to worry about anything. I remember asking her where my toss bouquet was and she had already given it to the DJ! She made me feel comfortable and she had everything run on schedule. The best thing about this is that it was affordable and the quality of work was more than what we paid for. Thanks, Libbi for making this day so amazing and unforgettable.
